Good-bye, farewell

Seven years ago, Rob and I dove head first into the real estate market in Vancouver and bought a 1br condo in the popular Yaletown area. Tonight we handed the keys over to our agent and said good-bye to a place that brings back plenty of memories of our carefree days without kids.

I can't believe it's been seven years already. Take a moment and join me on a nostalgic ride through these seven years...

-condo bought in summer 2003
-we got engaged that summer of 2004; it was also the year where I discovered the tumor in my right thyroid gland
-2005 was a busy year; started off with my first ever surgery and hospital stay after removing my right thyroid; our summer wedding and us moving to Toronto so I could go back to school
-after completing the IPMP program in June 2006, I accepted a CIDA internship to Tajikistan in Central Asia and lived away from my hubby for nine long months
-Rob travelled to Tajikistan in June 2007 and we had a wonderful reunion and travel adventure across the mountains in Tajikistan and into Turkey and Greece. We settled back in Vancouver that summer and in Dec., we purchased our home in Burnaby
-2008 was all about being preggo and prepping for our little Sofia's arrival
-2009: Year of the first-time parent and enjoying watching Sofia grow into toddlerhood
-And now we are expecting baby #2 in 2010 and tomorrow will be the first day we will no longer have a place to park in Yaletown, no more view of Mt. Baker and beautiful Vancouver, and no more mortgage payments for the condo. It's a happy-sad moment. We loved our condo; our first home; our first commitment to each other.

Memories of blading around the seawall, late night dragonboat fundraisers, walking to hockey games...list goes on doesn't it? the good ol' days =)
