holy moly five months already?

Our little monkey is 5 months old and boy is she growing and developing such a personality!

Just came back from the doctors and she weigh in at 16lbs! The doctor also said she's above percentile for her head size (brain is growing!) but unfortunately still a tiny elf lengthwise =)

She's recently started:

-moving around in her crib at night so one morning we found her head up against the crib rail with her hand holding the rail (such a cutie) -making lots of different sounds that range from blowing bubbles/spitting to high-pitched screams and shrieks. Even her cries have changed. There's variations of protest cries with a whinny pitch, loud screams of anger and her typical, over the top cry with big drops of tears
-to hold her bottle!

-to giggle when tickled and laughs/smile when we are playing peek-a-boo or singing her favorite songs

-to sit with support and can lift her head/body upwards in almost a sitting position when she is being held in a cradle position
She has yet to roll over intentionally but I see this girl trying everyday. She can roll to her side from her back and has twisted herself so her bum is facing the ceiling while still on her back. Poor girl hasn't figured out what to do with the upper body yet.

Gosh I can't believe it was only months ago when she was this frail tiny newborn who weigh less than 10 lbs and needed our care 24/7. Now she's so sturdy and has learned to sooth, entertain herself and the best part, can fall asleep on her own. I'm so proud of her, making it a little easier for mom and dad.
